Summer School-Based Site Coordinator

Job Summary:
Lead, mentor, and inspire this summer! As a Seasonal Site Coordinator with Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois, you will oversee the success of one of our summer Club sites, manage a team of Youth Development Assistants, and ensure a safe, fun, and enriching environment for all members.
This position is an excellent opportunity for school district employees of East Aurora SD 131, West Aurora SD 129, Indian Prairie SD 204, or Oswego SD 308 to extend their leadership skills into the summer months, contributing to youth development in a meaningful way.
Key Roles/Responsibilities:
- Promote an optimal Club experience, ensuring a positive environment for all youth.
- Manage and support a team of an Assistant Site Coordinator and 5-6 Youth Development Assistants in executing high-quality daily programs.
- Create a physically and emotionally safe environment with age-appropriate settings.
- Maintain a staff-to-member ratio of at least 1:20, preferably operating at 1:15.
- Provide structure, set behavioral expectations, and model positive behavior.
- Wear uniform and name badge at all times, ensuring staff comply with uniform policy.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of program areas.
- Foster a sense of belonging and ownership among members and staff.
- Build strong relationships with members, families, school personnel, and community partners.
- Ensure youth are developing skills in leadership, academics, arts, health, and life skills.
- Encourage moral character, support academic achievement, and promote post-secondary readiness.
- Recognize members’ and staff’s accomplishments and growth.
- Ensure program areas showcase members’ achievements.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with food prep and serving as needed.
- Provide front desk/door support.
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Strong organizational, leadership, and multitasking skills.
- Professional, with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Alignment with Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission, vision, and values.
- Ability to train, supervise, and motivate staff and members.
- Experience managing behavior and addressing discipline issues.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Work hours: 8:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.
Education and Experience:
- School district employment is required to promote a strong connection to the school.
- Experience working with youth required.
- Prior management or leadership experience preferred.
- Non-profit experience is a plus.
