Summary
Our Outside Sales Representative will drive sales (new accounts) in an assigned area by visiting prospective customers to introduce new products and packages and drive sales in a fast-paced results-driven environment. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining good relationships with customers based on their assigned territory. They must build trust and act as support for prospects, ensuring they lead to potential future sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for achieving sales goals and executing sales plans, both volume and profit, within assigned sales territory.
- Responsible for securing and maintaining the distribution of products and maintaining effective agreements.
- Has direct one-to-one communication with customers, both present and prospective.
- Field promotion work and developing new accounts.
- Demonstrates products and provides assistance in the best application of products.
- Contacts prospects and explains features and merits of products offered, utilizing persuasive sales techniques.
- Analyzes records of present and past sales, trends, and costs, estimated and realized revenue, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred.
- Interprets accounts, trends, and records to management.
- Responsible for closing the sales transaction.
- Service accounts and manages the relationship
- Negotiate prices or terms of sales or service agreements.
- Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders.
- Visit establishments to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales.
- Maintain customer records, using automated systems.
- Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms.
- Quote prices, credit terms, or other bid specifications.
- Contact new or existing customers to discuss how specific products or services can meet their needs.
- Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers' needs and on the technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
- Compute customer's installation or production costs and estimate savings from new services, products, or equipment.
- Select or assist customers in selecting products based on customer needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Communicate in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner with all employees, customers, management, and others with whom we may work. Contribute to a successful workgroup and foster a team-oriented culture through positive interactions, active listening, meaningful collaborations, high employee engagement, and the constructive exchange of ideas designed to meet or exceed the organization’s strategic goals.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned to meet team, department, and Company goals while actively demonstrating accountability and responsibility for achieving desired outcomes and measurable results.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Outside sales representatives should have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, economics, communications, and/or any equivalent education that demonstrates expertise in customer engagement.
- Having a well-developed phone presence and a high comfort level in initiating conversations is essential to fulfilling the daily duties of an outside sales representative. Aside from a social and positive personality, outside sales representatives must be self-starters and proactive problem solvers, since not every day is the same and the workplace setting is constantly changing.
