The Role

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager or VP, The Project Manager is responsible for the overall orchestration of a project from buyout, procurement to close out, and possess a thorough understanding the contract documents. Additionally, the PM is the primary contact with our clients and understands the importance of budget, schedule, quality, and safety. Finally, the PM collaborates with the Superintendent to ensure the project’s success and leads a staff of Project Engineers while mentoring their development to become Builders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and building relationships with clients/owners, owner’s reps, architects and subcontractors, resulting in repeat business and recommendations
  • Stepping up to conflicts and working to agreement equitably
  • Managing client expectations
  • Managing the financial aspects of the project
  • Project bidding and buyout, start up, jobsite management and efficient closeout
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, submittals, RFIs and change orders
  • Minimizing risk
  • Implementing and managing QAQC procedures
  • Working collaboratively with the project superintendent for a quality pre-con and construction: ensuring the schedule is in place, being followed, and being updated with a level of detail sufficient for a meaningful baseline
  • Executing regular reporting on impacts to the baseline schedule
  • Working collaboratively and proactively with the project superintendent: ensuring project safety
  • Delegating appropriately and developing and teaching others to be effective
  • Project documentation
  • The project’s gross margin and profitability


Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Architecture, or Engineering preferred, but experience will be considered in lieu of education
  • At least 5 years of commercial construction industry experience, with at least 2 of those years in project management
  • Experience overseeing contracts of $25M or more
  • Experience managing project teams of 1-10 members
  • Experience with fast-paced schedules
  • Technical knowledge of building components and systems
  • High-level knowledge of Type I construction means and methods
  • Thorough knowledge of procedures: A102 and A201 contracts, subcontracts, change orders, submittals, RFIs and close out
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, BIM, P6 and Procore
  • Ability to engage effectively at all levels, from front line to C-suite
  • Compassion, empathy and judgement
  • A passion for building

Salary Description
$136,080- $181,125 DOE
