Description

The Associate Director of Marketing, will work directly with the Senior Director of Marketing to oversee the Frost Valley YMCA brand, enhance our brand presence, drive engagement, and ultimately help advance our mission. This role will focus on developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that elevate our digital presence, strengthen media relations, and produce high-quality content across multiple channels.

The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of SEO, copywriting, copy editing, and email marketing. They will also have a working knowledge of media communications and be proficient in basic website maintenance on WordPress.



Requirements

Staffing and Supervision

  • Responsible for overseeing the Social Media Manager, as well as staffing and recruiting for that position

Collaboration & Strategic Initiatives

  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Marketing to develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market campaigns aligned with overall marketing and organizational objectives.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in social media marketing and implement innovative strategies to keep the brand ahead of the curve.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams and other stakeholders to foster alignment and enhance overall marketing effectiveness.

Email Marketing

  • Develop and manage engaging and high-quality email marketing campaigns to engage guests, donors, alumni, and volunteers, overseeing the execution of all email marketing efforts.
  • Create audience segments, drip campaigns and tailor content to drive open rates, click-throughs, and conversions.
  • Work with the Social Media Manager and Creative Director to create cohesive cross-platform campaigns spanning social media, email marketing, paid advertising, and organic media.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to optimize future campaigns.

Project Management

  • Create and assign tasks in Asana (Project Management Software) to ensure all aspects of campaigns are assigned and completed in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient project collaboration, working closely with program Directors and engaging with various staff teams.

SEO & Content Strategy

  • Work with Google Ad Grant management to inform content strategies that increase organic and paid search traffic.
  • Write and optimize blog posts, power pages, and other web content to improve search engine rankings.
  • Stay updated on SEO best practices and apply them to all content initiatives.

Copy writing & Content Creation

  • Write compelling and mission-aligned content, including newsletters, eblasts, blog posts, and press releases.
  • Develop messaging that resonates with various audiences while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and programs, to ensure marketing efforts align with overall business goals and brand consistency.
  • Ensure that all marketing content complies with Frost Valley YMCA's and YUSA’s brand guidelines.

Media Relationships & Press Releases

  • Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate interviews as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and regional media outlets, writing regular columns and securing press coverage.
  • Draft and distribute press releases and media advisories about events, updates, and organizational milestones.
  • Monitor brand mentions across outlets and platforms for potential reputation issues or crises and develop strategies to address them effectively.

Basic Website Maintenance (WordPress)

  • Perform routine updates to the organization’s WordPress website, ensuring content is fresh, relevant, and user-friendly.
  • Troubleshoot minor issues and work with web developers on more complex tasks.
  • Maintain best practices for website accessibility and performance.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Marketing.
  • Will embrace the Frost Valley character values and the mission of the organization in addition to the undertaking of the Strategic Plan 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related role, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Must be 21 years or older with a valid driver’s license. 
  • Exceptional copy-writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong understanding of email marketing platforms and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content tailored to different platforms and audiences.
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative ideas for marketing campaigns.
  • Proven experience with SEO strategies and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with a variety of software (e.g Asana,Meta Business Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) & Google equivalents, Square, Wordpress 
  • Photography experience, experience with graphic design and video editing tools, and WordPress experience with a basic understanding of HTML and web design principles, are a plus.

SALARY RANGE: $52,000.00 to $55,000.00 annually plus generous benefits
