The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a Licensed Outpatient Mental Health Counselor Contract Worker.  As we expand our counseling services, we are looking for a dynamic therapist, passionate about working within a perinatal mental health population.  The Licensed Outpatient Mental Health Counselor Contract Worker will be able to work as part of a growing counseling team and be supported through regular supervision.  Areas of focus in this position would be providing counseling to individuals and couples experiencing perinatal loss, post-partum anxiety and depression, infertility, and other reproductive mental health concerns. 


  • Course work and/or experience working within reproductive mental health, experience working with both individuals and couples, and trauma-informed practices preferred
  • Must have LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or the equivalent
  • Certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C), equivalent coursework, or willingness to pursue preferred
  • Open to newly licensed professionals!!

Requirements

 

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field, required.
  • Current, active, PA clinical license (LPC or LCSW) or licensure (LSW, LAPC) with ability to obtain clinical licensure within first year of hire required. 
  • Minimum of one year experience in clinical work with adults required.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health conditions and evidence based therapeutic interventions for treatment required.
  • Strong knowledge of the impact of trauma and trauma informed interventions required. 
  • Strong ability to build rapport with and communicate with all clients, regardless of age, preferred gender, sexual orientation, or other belief systems required.  
  • Experience working with adults coping with grief, loss, infertility, parenting, adjustment to a child's medical diagnosis and/or experience treating in a primary care or hospital-based setting preferred.
