DIRECTOR OF WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS

We are seeking an experienced, bilingual Director of Warehouse Operations to lead the warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both Spanish and English and have strong leadership skills to effectively manage a diverse team. This role requires hands-on warehouse management experience, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a focus on productivity, safety, and quality control. The Director of Warehouse Operations will report directly to the VP of Operations.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Manage and Coordinate Operations: Oversee day and night shift warehouse operations, ensuring optimal efficiency, productivity, and smooth transitions between shifts.
  •  Lead and Direct Staff: Lead and direct warehouse associates to fulfill accurate orders, stage shipments, and prepare the warehouse for the next shift.
  •  Coach and Develop Team: Coach, train, and develop warehouse associates on policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
  •  Monitor Performance Metrics: Track performance metrics such as mis-picks and productivity reports, ensuring compliance with company standards and identifying areas for improvement.
  •  Ensure Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, OSHA regulations and company policies to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  •  Oversee Inventory and Operations: Supervise inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping and receiving processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  •  Handle Scheduling and Attendance: Manage scheduling, track attendance, and handle disciplinary actions as necessary to maintain workforce accountability.
  •  Report Incidents and Discrepancies: Promptly report discrepancies, injuries, near misses, and workers’ compensation updates relevant parties including the HR departments, in a timely manner.
  •  Serve as a Liaison: Act as a key liaison between warehouse teams and other department management to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  •  Work Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth operations and alignment on overall goals.
  •  Participate in Safety Initiatives: Attend quarterly safety meetings and contribute to safety initiatives, ensuring a proactive approach to maintaining a safe working environment.


Qualifications and Requirements:

  •  Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal) is required.
  •  3+ years of warehouse management or supervisory experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
  •  Strong knowledge of inventory control, OSHA regulations, and other regulatory requirements.
  •  Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  •  Expertise in warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Slack, and other essential warehouse programs.
  •  Experience in shipping, receiving, inventory management, and logistics.
  •  Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure.
  •  Forklift certification is a plus.


Physical Requirements for Director of Warehouse Operations:

  •  Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during long shifts.
  •  Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25-50 lbs.
  •  Ability to navigate warehouse spaces, including climbing stairs and ladders as needed.
  •  Ability to perform basic manual tasks such as handling inventory and supervising staff in a warehouse setting.
  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both indoors and outdoors, in varying temperatures.
  •  Prolonged use of computer and other office equipment for reporting, communication, and planning.
  •  Willingness to work long shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends as required.
  •  Ability to work extended hours as needed to meet operational demands.

Schedule: Day Shift Operations, Monday to Friday, 6am-3pm

                   Night Shift Operations, Sunday to Thursday, 4pm to finish

                   Flexibility required to work both shifts as needed.


Compensation: $100,000 – $125,000 per year (DOE, commensurate with experience)
