Summary
Equipment & Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for managing and executing new equipment activities, production enhancements, and facility improvements within our DNA plant. This role will oversee projects from planning through implementation, ensuring seamless coordination with internal teams and external contractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the implementation of new production equipment and facility upgrades.
- Develop project scopes, timelines, and budgets, ensuring on-time and within-budget execution.
- Collaborate with department management teams to plan and coordinate equipment integration.
- Maintain and organize all project documentation on the DNA shared drive.
- Work closely with external contractors to facilitate project completion.
- Develop and document process work instructions for newly installed equipment.
- Submit and track purchase requests for new equipment and necessary materials.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring smooth execution and timely completion.
- Utilize AutoCAD to determine optimal equipment placement within the facility.
- Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Investigate quality concerns, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Skills and Experience
- B.S. degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering
- 5-10 years of experience in Automotive Manufacturing, Process, or Industrial Engineering position
- Minimum 3 years of project management or relative experience
- Basic experience AutoCad & strong skills reading product drawings
- Computer Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab, Visio, Project).
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software in use.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Strong written and oral communication skills with all levels of the company
- Ability to hear ordinary conversation or on a telephone
- Ability to understand and carry out complicated oral or written instructions
- Ability to plan own work activities
- Ability to work on several projects at the same time to ensure they are completed in a timely manner
- Ability to appropriately manage confidential information
- Ability to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of time

Physical Work Conditions
- Must be able to work in a hot environment
- Must be able to lift and move aluminum wheels of varying weight
