Position Details
The Yard & Fleet Manager is responsible for the efficient organization and maintenance of roofing materials, equipment, and vehicles across multiple locations in Summit and Eagle Counties.
- Ensure all company vehicles and trailers meet DOT compliance and are regularly maintained.
- Support job staging by prepping tools and materials for upcoming work orders and contracts.
- Assist in troubleshooting small tools and equipment and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Act as the primary supervisor for yard team staff, typically managing a team of 2-3 support members, including yard assistants and drivers.
- Oversee tools and equipment annual budget with project manager and coordinate for annual equipment inspections. Control tool inventory and repairs.
- Coordinate weekly with project managers, superintendents, and the service team to align on needs.
- Fill in for drivers when needed and maintain readiness of vehicles and snow-cleared access.
- Ensure safety standards are upheld in all yard activities and vehicle operations.
- Among other responsibilities.
- Experience in warehouse, fleet, or yard logistics management.
- Familiarity with truck/trailer operation and DOT regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Dataforma or other field service systems.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and responsive to dynamic scheduling.
- A valid driver’s license, maintaining a good driving record, and reliable transportation, is preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to use hands to complete detailed work, stand and walk throughout the workday on a regular basis, lifting and/or moving up to 100lbs., kneel, squat, twist, and reach above shoulder throughout the workday. Exposure to outside weather elements, including cold, heat, wind and precipitation during yard and field tasks.
