Summary
A Production Technician Team Lead of Masking is accountable for job setup, inspections, first article creation and development, as well as processing customer parts per customer requirements while maintaining quality inspections and meeting production rate requirements. This role supports the supervision of employees and trains personnel.
Key Accountabilities
- Meet or exceed organizational goals for safety, quality, cost, and delivery
- Knowledge expert on processes of services offered in the department
- Training new and existing employees to meet or exceed production requirements

Key Responsibilities
People:
- Ensures company standards for safety, quality and customer satisfaction are met or exceeded
- Assist the Department Manager with leading, developing, directing, and coaching of employees
- Effectively identify and address performance management issues as they arise with team. If the situation requires guidance, seek support from the Manager
- Writes and delivers performance reviews annually for the employees within the department
- Give recognition in a timely manner for good performance to employees
- Responsible for training employees, which includes techniques used on parts and processes to ensure rates and quality expectations are met
Safety:
- Performs safety walks and corrects issues identified
- Maintaining housekeeping standards. Ensure production floor is tour ready by ensuring safety hazards are identified and corrected and area is neat and organized
- Follow proper safety procedures such as wearing Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses, gloves, respirators or other as needed
Production:
- Responsible for being the backup to the Department Manager in their absence
- Manages inventory of supplies as needed
- Perform the set up for jobs for team to minimize production down time throughout day
- Ensures all resources and tools are readily available at the start of each job for employees
- Performs hourly checkups with employees to ensure work is being completed timely, accurately and rates are being met
- Verifies with employees that they know and understand where they are on rates on a weekly basis and gives feedback on expectations for improvement
- Supports scheduling, price approvals and quotes
- Operate a forklift to move production and other necessary items
- Delegate jobs and print reports as needed to ensure production is being executed to meet customer needs
- Continuously monitor each step of production process to ensure quality of parts
- Communicate with other departments, as needed, to share needed information throughout workday
- Notify the Department Manager of any necessary maintenance repairs needed
Quality:
- Create and develop first articles from conception to final production
- Develop, finalize and update new and existing process cards
- Communicates with customers as needed
- Update production rates, identify gaps in rate discrepancies and address as needed
- Reviews corrective actions for the department daily
- Visually inspects the work of the team to ensure quality standards are being met
- Review and audit process cards for completeness and if errors are identified, ensure the errors are addressed
- Perform a quality & final sign off on job trackers verifying quality requirements have been successfully met
Qualities for Success

- Must be a Citizen of the United States of America or have a current Green Card
- General knowledge of department terminology
- Strong attention to detail to ensure safety and quality
- General computer skills and the ability to work with basic computer programs

- Ability to operate a forklift throughout workday
- Ability to balance workload effectively and stay organized
- Ability to read and understand processes, procedures, and instructions
- Ability to work and collaborate with others respectfully and professionally
- Ability to be dependable and punctual, work overtime as needed
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 30 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. on occasion
- Ability to use hand tools requiring using fine dexterity and precision
- Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, and bending for 8 hours as the position requires
- Ability to withstand occasional odors
