This position will work Monday thru Thursday from 2:00pm - 12:00am.
The Manufacturing Technician will ensure the timely completion of complex environmental control system assemblies for shipment to customers. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined with strong relevant manufacturing experience using drills, saws, and other light duty equipment with the ability to read engineering drawings. A successful technician will be a team player, with an understanding of the importance of quality, safety, and urgency. The senior technician will also lead and train junior/new technicians within the team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
70% Production and Assembly
o Riveting, plastics trimming, forming, foam insulation, epoxies, soldering, electronics, and match drilling
o Review manufacturing order for part number and revision and due date for completion.
o Access approved drawings on shared network that correlates with manufacturing order to complete.
o Routinely use hand tools including pneumatic and electric drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, calipers, rivet guns, clamps, hammers, and wire crimpers
o Complete documentation as needed during the assembly and after assembly is finished.
o Performs quality checks as required to ensure adherence to quality standards
o Perform acceptance testing on completed builds
o Work collaboratively with Engineering personnel to improve assemblies
o Ensures the appropriate personal protective equipment is utilized and safety precautions are followed
o Work in a clean environment to prevent FOD (Foreign Object Damage)
o Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to write or revise work instructions
20% Training and Mentoring
o Delegate work to junior assemblers.
o Routinely mentor and assist junior assemblers with manufacturing builds
o Train new staff on work procedures and processes
10% Other duties as assigned
• High school diploma or GED required
• A&P Certification preferred
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience in fabrication and aviation airframe strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability reading schematics, prints, drawings, etc for part assembly required
• Must have strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
• Valid Driver License required
• Ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and maintain cooperative working relationships.
