Description

  

Develop and manage the external supply base in Accordance with Virtex Supply Chain standards and policies. Establish and maintain requirements for Supplier performance: quality, reliability, cost, delivery and responsiveness to continuously improve our supply chain. Work with staff to ensure Supplier Management plan is executed. 


   Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement      supply chain wide plans and programs.
  • Develop and implement      business strategies around supply chain consolidation, cost reduction,      quality improvement, as well as supplier assessment.
  • Manage supplier      activities to ensure appropriate supplier selection; startup, production      ramp, and procedures such as first articles, packing definition, quality      definition, print quality, etc. are followed.
  • Support Lean      Manufacturing concepts and initiatives with manufacturing partners.
  • Negotiate and procure      contracts and services based on long-term volume planning with planning      and suppliers and handle conflicts or questions on prices, deliveries, and      specifications. Monitor supplier      performance and establish quantifiable metrics/requirements.
  • Establish goals and      implementation action plans to support business level vision.
  • Prepare and issue      reports to monitor the effectiveness of material replenishment systems      operations.
  • Ensure that ownership      and alignment are achieved between external and internal partners to meet      cost and schedule goals.
  • Minimize inventory      throughout the supply chain, while optimizing product availability.
  • Provide external      commodity supply base information critical to make/buy analysis,      estimating, and commodity cost management.
  • Manage purchase order      placement and ensure minimized buyer to purchase order cycle time.
  • Drive new product      introduction planning and associated supplied product obsolescence and      change activities. Advise      management of issues that will impact production and drive coordination of      appropriate corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure ISO compliance      for all processes related to materials management.
  • Participate in      business enterprise system changes to improve planning, supplier      management and execution of orders while simultaneously minimizing plant      inventory.
  • Ensure supplier      assessment is documented and reviewed with key suppliers.
Requirements

  

· Education level

Bachelor’s (BA / BS) degree in Business, with concentration in Finance, Logistics, Operations or related discipline. CSPM, or CPIM certification preferred. Eight (8) years materials management and procurement experience, with broad exposure to purchasing, materials management and planning, production, commodity management.  Minimum two years of supervisory/leadership experience. Experience in Lean Manufacturing, supply chain pull systems, and JIT.

Excellent organization skills and ability to handle multiple priorities

Proficiency with linkages between inventory control, planning and procurement

Proficient in cost/benefit analysis, ability to understand and explain cost impact of logistics decisions
