Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Type
Full-time
Description

Job Duties:

Will apply engineering knowledge and expertise to a full range of mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems involved in our leading systems and products. Will work to design new and revise existing design of GTA’s fuel and water systems, flexible tanks, and military vehicle covers through the application of engineering principles in mechanical engineering. Will apply engineering expertise to exceed customer requirements with economic solutions using sound engineering practices. Will develop comprehensive BOMs that reflect all necessary components for project execution. Will guide the design lifecycle from conceptual sketches to detailed CAD models. Will perform rigorous validation tests on software designs to ensure reliability and functionality. Will create precise manufacturing drawings that serve as definitive guides for production teams. Will craft detailed schematics that accurately convey the intricacies of mechanical systems. Will work effectively as part of a larger team, while also applying self-direction on individual engineering projects. Will work with production personnel to build or assemble the designed components and work with vendors on new or existing technology to solve engineering design problems in a timely manner. Will provide post-manufacturing support to address any issues during assembly or deployment. Will be charged with applying engineering skills and project management expertise to develop new designs for future growth opportunities, determine costs of such new designs, and then completing all contracted production work efficiently and within budget.
