Position Summary: The Business Development role is responsible for supporting the needs of the Business Development Department. This person works closely with the Head of Sales, Director of Business Development, the owners of the company, and Account Directors and Managers on supporting new business opportunities throughout the sales process.

- Abide by all day-to-day department processes, procedures, and operations within Business Development.
- Develop a clear understanding of EEG’s business to be able to focus on core issues and develop strategies, which will ensure that we are successful in winning profitable new business
- Create engaging and compelling client-facing proposals
- Work closely and collaborate with the account team (and external creative vendors, when needed) on overall strategy and approach to the new business opportunity.
- Using strategy and creative ideas, develop proposal responses in various formats (i.e. PowerPoint, website/microsite, and creative formats in conjunction with graphic designers) that speak to the client’s needs, concerns and objectives
- Coordinate materials, projects, and documentation:
- Schedule meetings with account team members
- Set-up detailed project notes and account specific documents
- Participate in internal and external meetings
- Take meeting notes and internal recaps
- File all pertinent materials in file sharing systems
- Create project Punch List/Timeline
- Create and update Proposal text and content
- Gather and organize content from various internal and external resources for RFP Responses
- Create and maintain all internal and external documentation
- Manage content and integrity of business development resource library
- Create detailed estimated event budgets
- Communicate with department managers and external vendors to obtain pricing estimates
- Create hard cost calculations and fee estimates for detailed event budgets
- Develop program documents, as necessary:
- Program overview grid
- Destination and hotel overview
- Event component descriptions
- Assist with preparation of client contracts (MSA/SOW, PSOW, or LOC), alongside Account Director, EEG Counsel, and Director of Business Development
- Support in Business Development ancillary projects, as needed
- Marketing materials for Sales and Business Development purposes
- Data projects and reporting for Sales, Business Development, and state-of-the business purposes
- Support in managing vendor relationships as they pertain to Business Development opportunities
- Attend applicable vendor visits, in-office or off-site.
Nice to Have: Support Venue Sourcing, as needed:
- Review and determine scope of project with Account Director and/or Sourcing Manager and Client, creating project specifications for availability requests
- Research and recommend suitable destinations/venues
Room for Growth: Although this role requires extensive administrative tasks, particularly while in the training phase of the role, there is substantial room for growth to take on more responsibilities and full ownership of projects. The role also offers significant opportunity for client-facing communication, including emails, phone calls, and presentations (virtual or in-person) often with decision-making executives and/or senior event planning team members.
