The Gist…

Our Senior Vice President,   Acquisition Strategy will report to the CEO and serve as a senior strategic advisor on federal acquisition strategy. The SVP will bring deep knowledge of   federal acquisition processes, competitive dynamics, and procurement regulations (including the FAR) to help our organization navigate full and open competitions and other complex acquisition environments. Working closely  with leadership, the SVP will play a critical role in advising how we align   our offerings, partnerships, and proposals with government buying strategies   to improve our competitive edge.


What Your Day Might Include…

  • Advising   executive leadership and capture teams on acquisition strategies, procurement   trends, and optimal approaches for positioning in full and open or limited   competition environments.
  • Analyzing   upcoming solicitations and acquisition forecasts to shape internal strategy  and readiness well in advance of RFP releases.
  • Providing   guidance on interpreting and applying Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)   and agency-specific procurement rules to support compliant and competitive positioning.
  • Collaborating with capture and proposal teams to review government RFPs and develop approaches aligned with acquisition preferences (e.g., contract vehicles, teaming strategies, pricing models).
  • Monitoring shifts in federal acquisition strategies, including changes in contracting vehicles, preferences for small business participation, or emerging   requirements.
  • Helping   the organization assess when to prime or team, and how to construct strong   partner ecosystems to enhance our competitiveness.
  • Supporting   strategic go/no-go decisions by providing insights on acquisition risks, competition, and government intent.
  • Coaching internal stakeholders on acquisition nuances and supporting internal education around government procurement strategy.

Success Metrics

  • Growth: Drive the expansion of the CBP PWSS   task order and identify opportunities for new and future contracts within the   Office of Trade, ensuring sustained business growth and alignment with   strategic objectives.
  • Influence on win strategy for key pursuits,   resulting in a measurable increase in qualified pipeline value.
  • Establishment of competitive intelligence   mechanisms that shape how we approach full & open competitions and   recompetes.
  • Lead assessments of FAR-driven acquisition   approaches, resulting in reduced compliance risk and improved bid scoring.
  • Contribute to shaping acquisition strategies   or RFP requirements through early engagement or industry feedback mechanisms.
  • Executive Leadership: Regular engagement with   C-suite and capture teams to inform executive decisions on bid/no-bid,   teaming, and pricing strategies.
  • Development of enterprise-level acquisition   strategy frameworks or playbooks adopted across portfolios.
  • Active participation in go/no-go reviews and   executive gate reviews, with a 90%+ alignment to corporate priorities.



Requirements

You’ll Bring These   Qualifications…

  • US Citizenship required to obtain Public Trust (as necessary)
  • 10+ years of experience supporting the federal government
  • Deep experience navigating federal acquisition environments, including full and open competitions and other complex procurement strategies.
  • Expertise in interpreting and applying the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and understanding agency-specific acquisition nuances.
  • A strong strategic mindset, with the ability to analyze procurement trends, synthesize market intelligence, and translate insights into actionable positioning strategies.
  • Experience supporting capture teams, proposal development, and shaping strategies that align with government acquisition preferences.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and advising senior leadership on acquisition-related decision-making.
  • Previous experience in a senior government acquisition role or advising on large-scale federal pursuits preferred.
