The Tankwagon Driver & Service Tech will make deliveries of petroleum products to customer sites efficiently following all company and mandated protocols. They will install and troubleshoot fuel equipment and provide related services in a safe, efficient manner that maximizes customer satisfaction and sales. This position would include the safe delivery of petroleum to customer sites efficiently following all company and mandated protocols in a Tankwagon.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Make delivery of petroleum products to customer sites in compliance with state and federal regulations and all Company operational and safety policies and procedures
- Maintain truck and delivery logs in compliance with state and federal regulations; conduct required pre- and post-trip inspections
- Communicate customer needs and inquiries to appropriate departments for follow up
- Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned or requested
- Invoice all products and services accurately as they are delivered or sold.
- Promptly handle all customer complaints with follow-up until the complaint has been resolved.
- Attend training sessions to stay current with petroleum industry safety and operational standards
- CDL class A or B w/clean driving record. Hazmat, tanker endorsements required
- Current DOT medical card
- Must meet all DOT requirements including road test, physical, and drug screen
Education and Experience:
- 2 years commercial driving experience preferred
- Past fuel/oil delivery experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and be familiar with the local area
- Possess basic math skills, organizational skills and be a team player
Physical Requirements:
- Walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb, as required, in order to perform required vehicle inspections
- May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- May be required to be exposed to extreme weather conditions (snow, ice, heat, winds)
- Occasionally climb ladders
- Sit for extended periods of time in a truck and be able to drive, for as many as 11 hours while transporting fuel and other industry products
