Description

PURPOSE STATEMENT


Operate radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic X-ray films as directed by physicians under the supervision of Registered Radiologic Technologist and perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Take X-ray images of specified body areas/parts as ordered, following established procedures.
  • Apply lead shield to protect unaffected parts of the body from exposure to radiation. Direct personnel to a safe area and/or shield them.
  • Perform portable exams.
  • Perform C-arm exams in the OR while maintaining a sterile field.
  • Enter exams in Radiology Information System and PACS.
  • Provide radiologist with proper history for complete diagnosis.
  • Mark all images correctly using provided lead markers.
  • Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality.
  • Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Keep work areas clean. Maintain supply levels.
  • Must adhere to hospital dress code.
  • Attend in-service meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Able to send images to cloud system.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Diagnostic Imaging Director.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Will take call on a rotation basis.
Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently attending an accredited program in Radiology Technology.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.
  • Current BLS is required.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.
  • Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.
  • Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
  • Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech. and hearing.
  • Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
  • Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to life and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces.
