Description
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Operate radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic X-ray films as directed by physicians under the supervision of Registered Radiologic Technologist and perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Take X-ray images of specified body areas/parts as ordered, following established procedures.
- Apply lead shield to protect unaffected parts of the body from exposure to radiation. Direct personnel to a safe area and/or shield them.
- Perform portable exams.
- Perform C-arm exams in the OR while maintaining a sterile field.
- Enter exams in Radiology Information System and PACS.
- Provide radiologist with proper history for complete diagnosis.
- Mark all images correctly using provided lead markers.
- Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality.
- Assist in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies. Keep work areas clean. Maintain supply levels.
- Must adhere to hospital dress code.
- Attend in-service meetings and other meetings as required.
- Able to send images to cloud system.
- Perform other duties as directed by Diagnostic Imaging Director.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- Will take call on a rotation basis.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Currently attending an accredited program in Radiology Technology.
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.
- Current BLS is required.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.
- Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
- Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech. and hearing.
- Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
- Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to life and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces.
