About Us:
We are an innovative healthcare organization preparing to open a new community-based pharmacy dedicated to providing exceptional service, personalized care, and comprehensive medication management. We’re seeking a highly motivated Pharmacist to serve as our Director of Pharmacy to lead all aspects of our pharmacy’s startup, compliance, operations, and future growth.


Position Overview:
As the Director of Pharmacy, you will be responsible for overseeing the setup, licensing, and full operational launch of the pharmacy. This is a unique leadership opportunity for a pharmacist who is passionate about patient care and experienced in pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and business development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the licensing and accreditation process, including Board of Pharmacy registration and DEA registration
     
  • Oversee pharmacy layout design, workflow, technology selection, and vendor relationships
     
  • Recruit and train pharmacy support staff
     
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local laws
     
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
     
  • Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)
     
  • Establish clinical and operational goals, including formulary, MTM services, and customer service standards
     
  • Build strong relationships with physicians, patients, and healthcare partners
     
  • Oversee inventory, purchasing, and cost control
     
  • Track and improve pharmacy performance and quality metrics
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent
     
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacist License in [State] (or eligibility for transfer)
     
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of pharmacy experience; prior leadership, management, or startup experience preferred
     
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmacy regulations and best practices
     
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
     
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for patient care and innovation
     

Preferred:

  • Experience launching or managing an independent pharmacy
     
  • Familiarity with third-party payer contracting and pharmacy billing
     
  • Bilingual skills (a plus)
