Description

At the IBJI Health Performance Institute (HPI), we help individuals move better, feel better, and perform better through evidence-based training and coaching. Our Mount Prospect location is seeking a full-time Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support daily operations, elevate the client experience, and lead our team with a focus on athlete training services. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with experience in fitness, wellness, or hospitality management and a passion for helping others succeed.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive growth in athlete training services through goal-oriented planning, revenue tracking, and performance monitoring.
  • Support the General Manager by managing day-to-day operations and assisting with scheduling, reporting, and team development.
  • Lead and inspire non-coordinator staff, creating a positive, inclusive, and high-performing environment aligned with our core values.
  • Oversee hiring, onboarding, and continuing education initiatives to foster a culture of lifelong learning and service excellence.
  • Uphold our operational standards by maintaining cleanliness, safety, and client satisfaction across all facility areas.
  • Facilitate communication between departments and team members to align around shared goals and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement SOPs that ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to evidence-based best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to refine systems and processes that optimize staff and client experiences.
Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing fitness, wellness, or hospitality operations.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgets, revenue reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on coaching, team motivation, and staff retention.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with clients, team members, and leadership.
  • Proficient in scheduling software, CRM systems, and basic accounting tools.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Passion for health, fitness, and creating a top-tier client experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be on your feet and move around the facility for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying equipment or supplies up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to demonstrate exercises and fitness movements to staff and clients.
  • Comfortable with basic facility upkeep and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
  • Able to observe and assess training sessions for quality and effectiveness.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $53,000-72,000 Based on experience and qualifications.
  • Status: Full-time, exempt.
  • Schedule: Requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends, based on operational needs.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
