Description

Objective

This position is responsible for assisting the chefs and cooks with a combination of duties to maintain the kitchen work areas, restaurant equipment, and dishware in clean and organized condition including washing dishes and cleaning assignments ensuring smooth operation of the kitchen.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and kitchen areas.
  • Scrapes food from dirty dishes, pots, pans, utensils and glassware, washes them by hand or places them in racks or in dish machine. Organizes and puts away in sanitary manner.
  • Sweeps and mops floors and cleans patios and sidewalks where applicable.
  • Sorts recycling and disposes of all garbage and recycling in appropriate bins and areas.
  • Steam-cleans or hoses-out garbage cans.
  • Demonstrate teamwork while working respectfully with all team members.
  • Communicate clearly while demonstrating willingness to help all team members.
  • Provide safe workplace environment for all staff members.
  • Provide harassment free workplace of all staff members.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Ability to work all days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical & Mental Requirements

Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties, in at times extreme environments, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations. Required to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, taste, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
