Field Installation Supervisor
Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Field Installation Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for supervising system installation projects that are assigned to you by the TOTAL Operations Manager. Your primary goal is to understand and manage projects to ensure each one is profitable, performed safely, and meets customer expectations. To do this, you will manage subcontractors who will implement the plans and execute the workload. You will also serve as the conduit between the customer and the company, ensuring all aspects of the project are completed as promised. You may also be required to step in to assist with the installation. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management

  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, CAD Designer, and others to fully understand each project and secure the necessary subcontractors to execute assigned projects within the assigned budget.
  • Initiate, monitor, and manage all project scheduling to ensure on-time completion of projects.
  • Assist with estimating manpower and materials as required to ensure on-budget performance.
  • Verify warehouse dimensions and materials, onsite work area, and access, looking for potential problems and possible solutions.
  • Manage subcontractor crews during installation and demolition activities and drive completion as scheduled and committed to the customers. 
  • Validate all necessary materials and supplies are delivered to/from jobs, assisting in driving 20’ trailers when needed.
  • Serve as on-site subject matter expert.
  • Act as a liaison between customer, subcontractor, and sales staff when on-site.  
  • Conduct job site inspections for compliance with safety and environmental requirements, quality, budget, and schedule, taking necessary action as required for conformance.
  • Communicate with the project coordinator regularly to discuss and resolve all critical issues including project status, work requirements and staffing needs.
  • Communicate with management, sales, and customers regarding job progress, status, issues, etc.
  • Ensure the Company maintains positive client relationships, resolving concerns while providing excellent customer service.

Installation and Facility Support

  • Provide back-up installation support when required.
  • Provide back-up support for the logistics, inventory, and facilities team at assigned shop.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Required

  • 3+ years of team lead experience in warehouse racking installation and tear or equivalent team lead role in a related field.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Proven experience working effectively in a team environment with strong communication & listening skills.
  • Ability to shift priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to take direction from others and work under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to act in a way that is consistent with our values.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Qualified DMV record, background check, and drug screen.

Desired

  • 3+ years working with detailed CAD design visuals and turning those into an executed, installed solution.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.
  • Bilingual Spanish. 
  • Supervisory experience.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

  • Required to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, turn, climb, push, pull, squat, and/or remain balanced for extended lengths of time throughout their scheduled working period.
  • Required to reach above and below the shoulder, use repetitive hand, wrist and forearm rotation along with fine manipulation with right and left hands.
  • Required to use their hands on a routine and daily basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or otherwise operate required tools or controls.
  • Required to twist at the neck and waist frequently.
  • Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement required for driving equipment including forklift and motor vehicle, including long driving periods to locations across Northern California.
  • Will use tablet as a telephone, messenger, and work tool, so expect to wear a Bluetooth device and use fine hand movements to enter information into the tablet daily.
  • Must be able to move about the work area in a variety of different temperatures and environments and work safely in all weather conditions.
  • Hear with or without correction to be able to interpret and receive information and directions. 
  • Communicate, verbally and in written form, regularly to describe and explain detailed, important, and accurate instructions internally and directly with customers
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. 
  • The associate must be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms.
  • Lift 50 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance from others or utilizing a lifting device.
  • Noise level fluctuates based on worksite.
