The Paraplanner, Centralized Services position includes exhibiting technical financial planning expertise, including the ability to analyze confidential client financial information and integrate the financial planning philosophy and biblical principles upon which the company serves its clients into customized financial plans to help clients achieve their goals.
This position is a part of a centralized service center located in the Blue Trust National Office in Alpharetta, GA. Team members will serve client and advisory teams across the country under the direction of our Financial Planning Department.
Please note: This role emphasizes administrative responsibilities and focus on the development of expertise in financial planning tools and knowledge, with occasional client communication.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Interacts with Planners, Advisors, and Clients of the firm to organize and prepare key financial planning deliverables for client meetings and interactions.
- Develops high quality, accurate, attractive, and professional reports and presentations that integrate a biblical worldview into financial recommendations. These reports will be consistent with standardized processes and proven methods for financial planning at Blue Trust.
- Adheres to and follows the Blue Trust “Standards of Care” for client service counsel and deliverables.
- Seeks to continually increase knowledge of the financial planning philosophy and biblical principles upon which Blue Trust serves its client base through learning associated scripture memory verses in order to integrate Blue Trust’s philosophy into client counsel and services.
- Exhibits technical knowledge and competency in cash flow planning and projections, education funding, debt management, income tax estimation and minimization, charitable giving strategies, retirement, insurance, and estate planning. Members of the Centralized Financial Planning team are expected to develop the expertise to be subject matter experts across the whole of Blue Trust’s Advisory toolbox for client service, including Portfolio Management and Implementation, Financial Plan Construction and Analysis, and topic-specific analysis and recommendations, including but not limited to:
- Coordinating with Centralized Portfolio Management Teams for Transition Analysis
- Risk Review – Utilizing eMoney and Holistiplan for Insurance Summary and Gap Analysis
- Tax Planning with Holistiplan
- Investment Analysis and Proposals Generation with Orion Risk Intelligence
- Constructing Time-Based Investment Allocation Recommendations with eMoney
- Medicare Analysis and Recommendations with i65 Analysis
- Social Security Planning Analysis with Horse’s Mouth/Maximize My Social Security
6. Demonstrates computer literacy and knowledge of specialized office programs and demonstrates competency in utilizing software applications that are company-specific, including eMoney, Salesforce (CRM), Orion, and individual niche planning applications.
7. Understands and supports the counsel and biblical basis upon which Blue Trust serves its client base.

Education, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a finance-related field.
- Prior experience is not required, but would be valuable if it is related to financial planning and/or financial service, taxes, or accounting.
- Experience with industry tools and resources is a plus, including: eMoney, Holistiplan, PreciseFP, FP Pathfinder, Orion/Orion Risk Intelligence, and others.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:
- Financial Planning education and credentials are a plus, such as CFP®, CKA®, MBA, ChFC, CPA, etc.
- If you have a license to sell securities or insurance, you will need to allow your license to expire after leaving your prior employer. Because we are not a broker-dealer nor insurance company, employees are not allowed to “park” their license(s) with Blue Trust and cannot “park” their license(s) with another company.
