Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret complex ownership-related documents, such as leases, title opinions, assignments, operating agreements, deeds, farm outs, and probate documents to calculate interests on ownership decks
· Compile necessary record title documents and analyze conveyance documents, estate proceedings, and assignments to process changes in mineral, royalty, and working interest ownership
- Create and maintain divisions of interests in corresponding joint interest billing and revenue decks including marketing and regulatory burden groups and BPO/APO decks when necessary
- Generate and distribute division orders/transfer orders
- Verify company interests on any outside operated/non-operated division order
- Collaborate with accounting, land, and legal colleagues to ensure accurate payment of monthly royalty payments and compliance
- Research and manage suspense and suspended owners by processing pay code changes, in addition to running regular escheat processes as required by various states
- Setting up & Maintaining Owner information
- Respond to interest owner inquiries and act as liaison within company to resolve owner issues when necessary
- Maintain and correct divisions of interest when payouts and recompletions occur
- Assist with special projects as needed
- Bachelor's degree required; CDOA Certification a plus
- Experience in oil and gas industry with a minimum of 5 years of experience in division order/owner relations or land administration
- Demonstrated knowledge of Federal, State and regional laws as they pertain to the conveyance of minerals and oil and gas rights, contracts, leases, pooling, unitization and deducts
- Knowledge/experience with W Energy, SAP, Quorum, OnDemand Land or similar software required
- Strong technical and analytical skills enabling delivery of high-quality work products with little to no supervision
- Experience working in a growing start-up environment is strongly preferred
- Knowledge/experience working in Colorado, New Mexico, and with the BLM strongly preferred
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written
- Strong skill set in MS Office suite
- Flexibility to grow and change with the needs of a growing company
