The Role: Accounts Receivable (AR) Collections Specialist

You will develop and maintain a positive relationship with our current client base in order to reduce AR balances. You’re a high-skilled customer service professional with extensive experience resolving customer issues and maintaining customer relationships. You will also have advanced customer service and phone skills.

What You’ll Do:
Many of our customers have been with us long-term, and this position provides business to business support for our client base. This person will be responsible for contacting past due customers, revising invoices, researching payments, and negotiating settlements in an attempt to collect the debt. Must be familiar with legal documents, have intermediate to advanced math skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Document results to help us have a better understanding of why customers are past due.
- Review, monitor and act on assigned accounts to resolve delinquency promptly and efficiently.
- General understanding of our products and service to provide informative help to our customers, identifying specific needs and solutions.
- Create a great client experience. Listen to and address customers’ needs.
- Work with other departments to identify issues that may cause the customer not to pay.
- Work within multiple software systems to obtain current customer information, effectively toggle between systems throughout the client interaction.
- Work with team to develop process improvements and streamline workflow.
What You’ll Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of collections experience.
- Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Patience working with routine or repetitive activities.
- Ability to influence by using persuasive customer service collection techniques.
- Attention to detail and problem solving.
- Confident and enthusiastic.
- Dependable with strong work ethic.
- Organized and able to multitask.
- Team player – supportive and respectful.
- Ability to analyze information and data independently.
- Willing to learn and ask questions.
- Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong typing skills.
- Knowledge in ERP software a plus.
