Job Description:
Sr. Process Coordinator will play a crucial role in the success of the Bank’s adherence to its Enterprise Financial Crimes Compliance programs, policies, and procedures (including all BaaS (Banking as a Service) partners). Reporting to the SVP, Director Financial Crimes Governance & Quality, and a member of Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC), the Sr. Process Coordinator will support the Bank’s execution of BSA/AML/Sanctions and Fraud compliance through assisting the first line of defense (FLOD) and second line of defense (SLOD) with policy and procedure development, training, and issue resolution.
The ideal candidate will have served in a financial crimes’ role for at least three years focused on BSA/AML/Sanctions and Fraud compliance, with experience in technical writing, training, and project management. This individual should exhibit strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains FCC’s internal documentation database and structure.
- Assists FLOD and SLOD in developing policies, procedures, and standards as needed relative to BSA/AML/Sanctions and fraud policies, programs, and processes.
- Conducts independent reviews of FLOD and SLOD policies, standards, procedures, and training material for BSA/AML/Sanctions and Fraud regulatory and law compliance.
- Identifies and escalates financial crimes policy gaps to SVP, Director Financial Crimes Governance & Quality.
- Develops, maintains, and tracks FCC teammate Enterprise/Corporate Membership/Certifications as each relates to BSA/AML/Sanctions and Fraud.
- Assigns appropriate teammate onboarding courses, job / role-based specific training, and targeted training courses in collaboration with Learning and Development.
- Creates and enhances BRB-specific foundational, role-based, and targeted training in alignment with BRB policies, procedures, and standards, and fincrime regulatory requirements.
- Supports collection of Board and/or Managerial materials for reporting of Financial Crimes Compliance focused on KPIs/KRIs related to the Pillars of BSA, Sanctions compliance and Fraud metrics.
- Research BSA/AML/Sanctions and Fraud related issues upon occurrence and provides appropriate clarification or interpretation to FLOD management on applicable rules, regulations, and guidance under the direction of the SVP, Director Financial Crimes Governance & Quality.
- Creates, manages, and tracks enterprise-wide communications related to BSA/AML/Sanctions and Fraud.
- Develops, maintains, updates, and socializes FCC intranet page(s), including FCC resources and documentation.
- Serves as the secondary liaison for all audits and exams, remediation projects or other projects related to financial crimes compliance within the enterprise, identifying internal stakeholders as designees, if and when appropriate.
- Attends periodic calls with auditors/examiners and remediation projects or other projects related to financial crimes compliance within the enterprise as assigned by the SVP, Director Financial Crimes Governance & Quality.
- Stays abreast of BSA/AML/Sanctions and Fraud regulatory changes and trends, including attending training seminars and webinars as deemed necessary by the SVP, Director Financial Crimes Governance & Quality.
- All other duties assigned.
Skills:
- Able to read, analyze, interpret, and communicate government regulations, trade journals, legal documents, and technical documents.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the FFIEC manual.
- Demonstrated enhanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with all levels of teammates within and outside the organization.
- Problem-solver skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.
- Experience in project management and negotiating skills with the ability to resolve issues while gaining consensus.
- Able to travel within the Blue Ridge NA footprint of Virginia and North Carolina, as required.
- Technical writing experience preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, business or a related field, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to such a degree, is required.
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and/or Certified AML and Fraud Professional (CAFP) certification, or other similar AML certification preferred.
Software Application:
- Advanced PC skills including word processing, spreadsheet, process and project management applications, and database applications.
Years Of Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ banking-related experience, preferably focused on BSA/AML/Sanctions and Fraud compliance is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, and phones.
