Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the upkeep and repair of our apartment community. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance and repair, as well as a strong understanding of safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance staff

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and grounds

- Respond to maintenance requests from residents and staff

- Ensure that all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work

- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including OSHA, fire prevention, and life and safety regulations

- Correct unsafe conditions in a timely manner

- Learn and ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal safety rules

- Immediately report any safety concerns to management

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- 2+ years of experience in maintenance and repair

- Ability to lift 55 pounds independently and support team lift with reasonable accommodations

- Ability to work in an indoor/outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures exceeding 90 degrees at times

- Ability to walk and stand for long periods, as well as stoop, squat, lift, carry, push, and climb

- Ability to work on ladders at varying heights

- Possible contact with blood borne pathogens and/or bodily fluids

- Strong understanding of safety regulations, including OSHA, fire prevention, and life and safety regulations

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
