Assistant IT Director
Description

The Assistant IT Director will be responsible for supporting the IT director in maintaining and managing the church’s technology systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure. This position will provide administrative functions as well as hands-on support for the church’s technological needs, IT systems for office staff, and digital platforms for online services. The ideal candidate will be skilled in troubleshooting, maintenance, and support, ensuring smooth operations for all technological aspects of the church, as well as work closely with staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers to enhance the church's technological capabilities, ensuring that systems are efficient and secure.

  • Must give testimony and evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sense the call of God to a serving ministry.
  • Assist in the strategic planning, development, and management of all IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, workstations, and digital platforms for both office and ministry purposes.
  • Perform the administration and maintenance of the church’s network infrastructure (Wi-Fi, routers, switches, etc.) to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
  • Complete the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of hardware, software, and IT systems for the church’s staff and ministries.
  • Ensure timely updates, patches, and upgrades of all software and systems to safeguard security and functionality.
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan, implement, and maintain technological solutions that support church services, events, and digital ministry efforts.
  • Lead the IT support team, providing direction, troubleshooting guidance, and ensuring high-quality technical support for staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders.
  • Manage the inventory of all IT-related equipment, including computers, tablets, audio/visual gear, and other technology assets, ensuring proper maintenance and replacement cycles.
  • Support the director in enforcing IT policies and procedures for system security, data privacy, disaster recovery, and asset management.
  • Collaborate with all levels of leadership and church staff to ensure technology aligns with the church’s mission and supports the ministry’s growth.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and recommend new solutions that could enhance the church’s operations or outreach efforts.


Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a church, non-profit, or similar environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Skills: Proficiency with network management, troubleshooting, and security protocols. Strong knowledge of hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance.

Must be an active member of Indian Rocks as defined below:

  • Regular attendance in worship services
  • Regular attendance/involvement in an Indian Rocks Connection Group or Small Group
  • Committed to systematic stewardship and faithful in tithing.

Responsible for performing the other duties as assigned and approved by supervising personnel, to include, but not limited to: Lead Pastor, Church Administrator, Associate Pastors, Generations Pastor, or Personnel Committee
