The Role: EMPIRE is looking for a Director, Commerce & Streaming Partnerships to join our San Francisco or New York office. This position will be integral to US & International release planning workflows, communication, reporting and growth strategies for key licensed streaming partners. The role will manage engagement both internally and externally to ensure the partnerships are performance optimized and focused on driving revenue. This role will report into the VP of Commerce & Streaming Partnerships and will be responsible for the following:

  • Oversee weekly new release pitches and manage relationships with key US based DSP partners / accounts
  • Secure and represent DSP opportunities at large. This could include editorial features, playlisting, DSP inventory, overseeing content strategies, marketing support, reporting integration, ongoing analysis of partner/release performance, problem solving etc.
  • Create, aggressively pitch, secure opportunities and exceed sales targets by communicating and engaging with partner liaisons
  • Optimize processes and strategies to enhance content performance, troubleshooting day-to-day issues on key commercial platforms and support/improve general release planning workflows, communication, reporting and growth strategies for key partners.
  • Oversee weekly pitch processes for various DSPs and make sure submissions are on or ahead of schedule
  • Communicate important sales related information and analytics to the rest of the US & Global Commerce teams
  • Engage with label teams to identify programs and opportunities with partners, building highly competitive plans and release timelines, leveraging key artist marketing components and/or deliverables in order to drive revenue
  • Consistently identify artist needs on streaming platforms and ensure solutions are linked to artist objectives
  • Drive results in a fast-paced, resource-conscious environment with a creative style and a strong vision
  • Fulfill ad hoc data requests to answer business critical questions on tracks, albums, artists, playlists, charts, sales and marketing campaigns, to name a few
  • Continual development of “best practices” as applies to the assigned DSPs
Requirements

Key Notes for Success:

  • 5 - 7 years experience dealing with commercial platforms as well as content and repertoire owners
  • You have the ability to interpret performance data and analytics and exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a MUST
  • You have experience pitching to DSPs and have existing editorial relationships
  • You're extremely organized/detail oriented and learn new processes quickly
  • You understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 + benefits + discretionary bonus
