Chopper Gun Operator
Description

We are seeking a skilled Chopper Gun Operator to join our boat manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating chopper guns to apply fiberglass and resin to molds, ensuring high-quality production of boat hulls, decks, and related components. 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate chopper gun to spray fiberglass and resin into molds for boat components.
  • Monitor and control resin-to-glass ratio for optimal strength and quality. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper handling of chemicals and materials.
  • Inspect molds and finished products for defects or inconsistencies. 
  • Follow work orders, blueprints, and safety guidelines closely.
  • Collaborate with the laminating and finishing teams to ensure a smooth workflow. 
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and notify supervisors of any issues. 
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required. 

Qualifications: 

  • Prior experience with fiberglass application and chopper gun operation is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with marine manufacturing or composites is a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, stand for long periods, and work in confined spaces while wearing protective gear.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to fiberglass, resin, and other chemical compounds (PPE provided).
  • Indoor production environment with occasional outdoor work.
  • Must be able to tolerate strong odors and moderate noise levels.
