Special Requirements

  • Ability to travel to Reston, VA or Farmers   Branch, TX a min of 2x per week
  • US Citizenship required to obtain Public Trust
  • Must have experience with Next.JS and Node.JS

The Gist…

We are seeking a motivated Software Development Intern   with experience in Node.js and Next.js to join our team. This internship   offers hands-on experience in building a scalable user interface that will   consolidate multiple existing interfaces into a unified platform. The project   will be developed in an AWS environment and will integrate with LLS (Linked   Learning Systems) and AI technologies. This role presents a strong   opportunity for growth, with the potential to transition into a full-time   software development position based on performance.


What Your Day Might Include…

  • Assist in designing, developing, and   maintaining a Next.js-based interface that will replace multiple legacy   interfaces.
  • Work with Node.js to build robust backend   services and APIs.
  • Collaborate with senior developers to   integrate AI and LLS technologies into the platform.
  • Participate in Agile development processes,   including code reviews, testing, and deployments within an AWS environment.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues, optimizing   performance and security.
  • Stay updated on emerging web development   technologies and best practices.



Requirements

You’ll Bring These   Qualifications…

  • Experience with Node.js and Next.js in academic projects, personal projects, or internships.
  • Basic knowledge of AWS services and cloud computing concepts.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or microservices architecture.
  • Understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and front-end frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI technologies, machine learning models, or cloud-based AI tools.
  • Exposure to serverless architectures and AWS Lambda.
  • Previous experience integrating with LLS or educational platforms.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
