RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES – SAFETY
· Maintain company policies and procedures to address all safety protocols for the facility.
· Research safety regulations to ensure the company keeps current on laws, best practices and safety standards in the industry.
· Act as company representative for inspections of company facility by external parties (i.e. OSHA)
· Arrange all Safety Committee meetings, along with taking and posting minutes.
· Conduct all required safety training.
· Conduct annual Tornado, Fire and Earthquake drills.
· Manage the investigation process for incidents and near-misses; completes related reports and handles the workers’ compensation claim process.
· Determining and processing OSHA Recordables.
· Arrange annual inspection and monthly inspections of fire extinguishers.
· Perform monthly inspections on elevator; arrange for the annual state inspection.
· Arrange bi-annual inspections of air compressors.
· Perform annual review of Lockout/Tagout Program, EPS Safety Manual and Emergency Action Plan.
· Maintain the Safety Data Sheets.
· Track and verify that Forklift evaluations are completed.
· Arrange annual Vehicle Ride-Along’s of DOT and non-DOT drivers and submit to MacArthur.
· Arrange annual hearing testing; complete all follow-up interviews and reports as needed.
· Arrange annual inspections for Overhead Hoist and all Machine Guarding.
· Purchase first aid items; restock all first aid cabinets monthly.
· Oversee Inclement Weather Procedures .
· Arrange for renewal of DOT driver’s medical card, driver’s license, random drug/alcohol testing.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES – HUMAN RESOURCES
· Assist General Manager with recruiting.
· Arrange for all pre-employment testing.
· Conduct all onboarding of direct and staffing hires; including all safety training according to DOT & OSHA requirements.
· Process and submit all termination paperwork.
· Submit and process all Missouri Shared Work unemployment claims; submit any unemployment protests.
· Process all necessary paperwork for employee leaves of absences.
· Submitting weekly payroll to corporate office; send time cards to staffing agencies.
· Maintain all employee digital files.
· Assist employees with all employee benefits.
· Assist supervisors with and oversee all discipline issues.
· Track all employee annual evaluations and send monthly reminders to General Manager and supervisors.
· Process and file annual Perry County Assessment.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
· Computer proficiency including word processing, creating PPTs, data entry, spreadsheets and generating reports using standard software applications.
· Ability to speak to groups of employees and managers, make impactful presentations and compel change.
· Willingness to become an American Heart Association instructor.
· Strong organizational and time management skills are critical; must be able to multi-task, problem solve, and prioritize.
· Must maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.
· Must have the ability to work both independently, with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
PREFERRED
· Business or HR Degree or equivalent experience.
· Safety field experience.
