Description

Job Summary:

The LVN is responsible for providing nursing care to patients working closely with physicians, clinical and office staff to perform all aspects of patient care. Adheres to local, state, and federal agency rules and regulations. Actively participates in outstanding customer service. Please note, travel between our Clear Creek and Round Rock clinic locations will be required and mileage reimbursement will be provided.


DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING

· Assesses health status of patients and implements appropriate nursing interventions

· Ensures care of patient through proper identification, checking of chart and reporting of changes in condition

· Takes vital signs and performs IV starts

· Specializes in Infusion Therapy and the administration of necessary medications intravenously

· Assists physician with procedures

· Performs, documents and reports all procedures and assessments in accordance with department policy

· Practices autonomously in accordance with professional nursing standards

· Collaborates and coordinates patient care activities among the patient care team by identifying individual plans of care

· Prepares patients for examinations, treatments and diagnostic tests

· Modifies patient’s treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and conditions

· Interprets and verifies physician orders correctly

· Monitors all aspects of patient care and instructs on topics such as health education, disease prevention and health improvement plans

· Communicate with staff, patients and families with excellent written and verbal skills

· Demonstrates awareness of hazards which may endanger patients and enforces safety regulations

· Has regular and predictable attendance

· Adheres to Advanced Pain Care’s policies and procedures

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of a Licensed Vocational Nurse program/school, BCLS certification, current registration with Texas State Board of Nursing as an LVN.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year nursing experience; IV experience is mandatory; pain management and/or rheumatology experience preferred


WORKING CONDITIONS

Environmental Conditions: Medical Office environment

Physical Conditions:

· Must be able to work as scheduled – typically from 8:00 – 5:00 M-F

· Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time

· Must be able to bend, stoop and stretch

· Must be able to lift and move boxes and other items weighing up to 30 pounds.

· Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment, etc.

Salary Description
$30-$35/hr.
