Dental Hygienist
Description


The Dental Hygienist plays a key role in delivering high-quality oral health care. This position is responsible for providing preventative dental services, promoting oral health education, and supporting the dental team in delivering comprehensive care. 


Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform dental cleanings, periodontal scaling, and root planning
  • Conduct oral health assessments and screenings
  • Take, process, and interpret dental X-rays
  • Adhere to infection control standards and OSHA regulations
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, diet, and tobacco cessation
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Collaborate with dentists and medical providers to support integrated care

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Provide outreach and oral health education to schools and community groups as needed


Requirements
  • Graduate of a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)-accredited Dental Hygiene program
  • Licensed Dental Hygienist in good standing with the state of Utah 
  • Valid CPR/BLS certification

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental hygiene, preferred
  • Experience working with underserved or diverse populations preferred

Skill & Competencies

  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred 
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-based care setting
  • Strong communication and patient engagement skills
  • Experience working with underserved or diverse populations preferred
Salary Description
$40/hr-$44/hr DOE
