CLEVELAND AREA HOSPITAL is an independent, self-managed Critical Access Hospital half an hour west of Tulsa, Oklahoma. As the only hospital in Pawnee County, we are constantly striving to provide the highest level of care by continuously growing and updating our services and equipment. Our facilities include a level IV Trauma Center/ ER, Skilled Nursing/Swing Bed program, Respiratory Therapy, C.T., 3D Mammography, a fully equipped Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, 24/7 Lab, and a Primary Care Clinic. POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to provide general nursing care, working collaboratively with R.N., L.P.N., other C.N.A.’s and multidisciplinary team members. The C.N.A. will provide professional care for patients of all ages, gender, cultures, and background by providing physical and psycho-social support to patient, friends and families.
The C.N.A. will provide patient care by implementation of the plan of care in order to deliver efficient, effective and quality patient care under the oversite of other personnel which includes but not limited to L.P.N. and R.N.
The C.N.A. must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care and is expected to adhere to and abide by policies of the facility and the rules and regulations set forth by Cleveland Area Hospital and the State of Oklahoma.
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patient Duties:
- Provides nursing care.
- Uses good communication skills to interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Assist all team members by being a patient advocate, resource, and contact person for patients.
- Provides basic education information to patients and family, focusing on self-care appropriate to their age and identified learning considerations and needs.
- Performs assessment data collection and documents objective data (vital signs, weight, etc.)
- Demonstrates an ability to remain calm, perform effectively and professionally during peak periods of activity and emergency situations.
- Assists with examination and procedures per request.
- Other duties as required.
- Utilizes universal precautions in obtaining specimens (urine, stool, etc.) and in delivery of patient care.
- Team Duties:
- Participates in training, orientation, competency assessment and education of new employees.
- Communicates clearly, concisely, and accurately, creating a working climate that promotes growth and job satisfaction of personnel.
- Communicates with The R.N. and/or L.P.N. effectively.
- Uses effective positive reinforcement and other methods to enhance team performance.
- Arrives on time, works scheduled shifts and badges in and out appropriately.
- Other duties as required.
- Administrative Duties:
- Adhere to all policies of the organization, including (but not limited to) job description, certification/licensure requirements, mission statement, HIPAA, confidentiality standards and patient’s rights.
- Actively engage and stay up to date with organization’s communications and directives.
- Acts in a professional manner, reflecting the mission of Cleveland Area Hospital and demonstrates compliance with all policy, procedures, and state/federal regulations.

- Maintains economical and efficient nursing care in a clean and safe environment.

This position could have access to patient confidential records and must comply with HIPAA regulations as well as Cleveland Area Hospital Policies.
