Maintenance Technician
Description

  

Performs mechanical maintenance work and repair work on all plant equipment and machinery.


Duties/Responsibilities:

· Receives instructions and work assignments from Supervisor. Works from blueprints of drawings and plans working procedure. Develops and implements new mechanical/electrical operations for improvements.

· Performs mechanical and hydraulic maintenance and repair work to equipment and machinery throughout the plant as required.

· Repairs, replaces, aligns, adjusts, and installs parts of plant equipment and machinery.

· Read effectively mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings.

· Operates equipment and makes adjustments to ensure proper operating conditions prior to turning over to operating personnel.

· Determines material needs and is responsible for getting material to job and for getting necessary parts ordered or made.

· Directs activities of other maintenance employees at the direction of the maintenance supervisor.

· Performs any necessary welding, brazing, or burning in making repairs or lubricating parts.

· Performs climbing, rigging, lifting and hoisting.

· Performs minor electrical repairs, pipefitting, and maintenance and construction on plant buildings and facilities, such as replacing and wiring up motors, installing all types of lines, and repairing and replacing parts in pumps.

· Performs electromechanical and electrical repairs as well.

· Transports material, parts, and supplies to assigned work areas using a forklift truck/cart or other means of transporting.

· Report and/or remedy unsafe working conditions.

· Keep necessary maintenance records.

· Keeps work area in a clean and safe, orderly condition at all times.

· Follows all safety procedures.

  •  Good communication skills
  • Trade/Technical School in Field preferred
