Essential Functions
Schedules all chemotherapy, injections, labs, scans, biopsies, education, financial counselor, bone marrow, physician appointments according to written orders. Adheres to all scheduling protocol guidelines.
Enters all lab and diagnostic test in diagnostic test tracking template and labs in soft lab according to written orders.
Enter referrals/precepts timely and consult request.
Accepts responsibility for reading and referencing new policies and procedures. (i.e. clinical services news letter, staff meetings).
Provides patient and family pre-test instructions as directed by physician.
Utilizes good standards for phone etiquette. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Lobby where patients approach desk. May have to walk to copies, fax, physician boxes, and offices
Must be able to comprehend and comply with complex insurance requirements. Critical thinking skills, must be aware of scheduling protocols, insurance plans, must be able to multi-task. Good hearing and vision to utilize computer and phone system. Must be able to remain in a stationery position 50% of the time and work at a computer.
Required Education and Experience
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing and possesses an active Florida State licensure Experience in Medical Oncology. CPR Certification
