Description
As the Construction Manager overseeing Project Managers, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple construction projects across designated territories. This strategic leadership role is responsible for supervising Project Managers, ensuring consistent application of standards, safety, scheduling, and budgetary adherence across all projects. You will serve as the key liaison between executive leadership and field operations, providing high-level oversight and driving accountability across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct leadership and support to a team of Project Managers handling multi-site construction initiatives.
- Ensure all projects are executed in alignment with company standards, timelines, and financial targets.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular site visits and project audits to assess progress, quality control, and adherence to contract specifications.
- Oversee the development and execution of project schedules, procurement strategies, and resource allocation plans.
- Lead coordination of subcontractors, vendors, and inspections through direct oversight or delegation to PMs.
- Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders and executives to report on progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Manage budget performance across projects, supporting PMs in cost control and forecasting efforts.
- Foster professional development, mentorship, and performance evaluation of Project Managers under your leadership.
- Champion a culture of safety, excellence, and collaboration across all field and office teams.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing multiple construction teams or PMs.
- Multi-family project experience is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of applicable construction codes, permitting, and regulatory standards.
- Proficient in reading construction drawings, schematics, and contract documents.
- Advanced organizational, leadership, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Technologically adept with proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Strong financial acumen related to budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
