Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 (Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience)

Location: Newton, MA

Supervisor:  Interim Deputy Director 

Schedule:  32 hours per week, on-site M-F 9-5- occasional nights/weekends 



Purpose: Since 1972 Pathway to Possible (P2P) has been providing housing and support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our mission is to provide housing, support, and advocacy for people with cognitive and developmental disabilities - and their families - while erasing barriers, building confidence, empowering independence, and expanding opportunities that enrich their lives and their communities.


Job Summary. Pathway to Possible is seeking a licensed social worker to oversee our mental health services and manage our Social Work Intern Program, provide relevant clinical trainings to P2P staff, and implement Positive Behavioral Support protocol with identified clients. In addition, the Clinical Director will meet with families of accepted clients to conduct a full intake, provide resources and set expectations with new family members.


Responsibilities

  • Manage P2P’s Social Work Intern Program, fostering relationships with area MSW programs, intern review and selection, weekly supervision of students and complete school performance and evaluation requirements.
  • Conduct student training specifically targeting clinical topics related to Pathway to Possible’s individuals, including working with individuals who are cognitively impaired and/or on the Autism spectrum.
  • Oversee diagnostic skill building and student completion of psychosocial evaluation for each P2P client.
  • Implement Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS) programming for P2P clients where appropriate.
  • Conduct staff training on relevant clinical skill building, PBS, best practices in the field, conflict resolution and various additional topics as identified.
  • Be familiar with current research on working with Pathway to Possible’s population.


Other Responsibilities

  • Attend staff meetings at each of the P2P homes.
  • Train staff on clinical topics related to Pathway to Possible’s individuals
  • Meet with residents in the houses 1:1 as needed to address concerns/issues.
  • Participate in all agency staff meetings and present on various topics.
  • Understand and keep current with the workings of the Department of Developmental Services and how the referral process operates.
  • Meet with families of new residents to complete the intake process.
  • Lead weekly clinical meetings for P2P clinical team members.
  • Lead relevant trainings for P2P’s family series.
  • Work with P2P leadership on evaluating and improving the Social Work Intern Program.
Requirements

  

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Ability to manage P2P’s social work intern program which includes 5-8 Social Work interns annually, meeting all deadlines and requirements. 
  • Ability to collaborate with higher education institutions.
  • Expertise and experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Excellent supervisory and mentoring skills. 
  • Hands on program management experience combined with strategic leadership capacity.
  • Commitment to P2P mission and purpose.
  • Must be able to work/commute to the Newton office. This is not a remote position. 


Education and Experience: 

  • Master's degree in social work required
  • LCSW required, LICSW preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of Social Work experience with the elderly or disabled populations.
  • Experience working in MSW higher education programs a plus.


Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.


Certifications:

LCSW required, LICSW preferred
