What You'll Do:

As the Packaging Manager, you will be responsible for the performance and leadership of the day shift packaging team, ensuring that production schedules are met, quality standards are upheld, and cross-functional collaboration is seamless. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Leading and managing the day shift Packaging team, including Packaging Supervisors and indirect reports across the department
  • Owning labor scheduling and budget management for the day shift packaging operation
  • Coordinating with night shift leadership to ensure consistency across shifts
  • Overseeing the safe and efficient operation of bottling, canning, and kegging on our automated lines
  • Ensuring full compliance with GMP, PPE, and safety standards
  • Collaborating with Quality, Fermentation, Warehouse, Maintenance, CI/Training, and other teams to align on resources, priorities, and improvement projects
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and efficient production spaces through 5S standards
  • Developing and reporting on KPIs to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Training and mentoring staff, ensuring all team members meet training standards and feel supported in their growth
  • Serving as a champion for Humm’s values and a role model for communication, teamwork, and professionalism
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education--College degree preferred.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and the ability to navigate and troubleshoot ERP systems, preferably Obeer.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong verbal communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, follow detailed instructions, and train others.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This is a hands-on role in a dynamic brewery and manufacturing environment. You’ll need to be comfortable with a blend of physical and computer-based work across both production and office settings. This includes:
  • Being on your feet for 8–12 hours a day.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally more.
  • Working in loud, wet, humid, and occasionally acidic or cold environments—including indoors, outdoors, and refrigerated areas, in all weather conditions.
  • Operating or working near forklifts, pallet jacks, high-powered pumps, heavy machinery, and chemicals.
  • Occasionally working at heights while lifting or performing tasks.
  • Flexing your schedule to support production needs, which may include day, swing, split, or graveyard shifts, as well as occasional weekends, holidays, evenings, or on-call hours.
Salary Description
$85,000 - $95,000.00 + DOE
