Project Engineer - Aviation Designer

Shrewsberry & Associates, LLC seeks Project Engineer-Aviation Designer in Dallas, TX.  

Position based out of our Dallas, TX office.   Hybrid position-some telecommuting flexibility, but a requirement to physically be in the Dallas, TX office/project site as needed. Travel required to project sites within the Dallas metropolitan area 25% of the time.

Responsibilities will include coordination and design of all phases of a variety of aviation and transportation related projects. Complete a variety of professional engineering assignments in

one or more specialized areas of aviation, transportation systems and programs involving research, planning, design, technology, materials, construction, traffic safety, traffic operations,

and maintenance of highways, bridges, airports, railways, and related structures and technological devices and applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design of aviation      construction projects, drainage, utilities, rehabilitation projects,      safety improvements, and other transportation projects.
  • Conduct research and      development of projects for compliance with local, state, and FAA      regulations.
  • Attend client meetings      as needed.
  • Assist Project Manager      with design solutions.
  • Coordinate daily tasks      with Project Manager and other team members as required for smooth      performance of client-defined tasks and project deadlines.
  • Assist in the      development and improvement of engineering production documents.
  • Development and updates      to engineering construction cost estimates.
  • Perform CAD design and      drafting to meet deliverable schedules.
  • Perform computer      modeling and analysis using Civil 3D and AviPlan.
  • Utilize hydraulic design      software.
  • Participate in client      relations management for assigned key clients.
  • Participate in      construction support activities including responses to requests for      information (RFIs), submittal reviews, construction site visits, and      design revisions/ management of
  • change.
  • Participate in design      reviews, risk assessments, and vendor bid evaluations.
  • Assist in the      preparation of engineering reports, specifications, quality and cost      estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
  • Check construction      plans, design calculations, or cost estimations to ensure completeness,      accuracy, or conformity to engineering standards or practices.
Requirements

  

Position requires: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
