Description

National Able Network, a dynamic and growing nonprofit agency specializing in the delivery of innovative employment and training programs, has an exciting opportunity for a service-oriented professional with solid experience in Business Engagement.
 

The Director of Business Engagement and Strategy is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and expanding business opportunities while fostering meaningful relationships that align with the agency’s mission. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive results through innovative engagement strategies. Key responsibilities include representing the agency at events, managing a robust pipeline of prospects, and implementing comprehensive business development strategies to support agency goals. Additionally, the Director will set and oversee the organization’s business outreach strategy, train business-facing staff, develop business outreach and engagement best practices, revise/develop organizational policies, work with program leadership to ensure accountability to both funder and agency goals, and ensure that the agency’s business engagement strategy and efforts align with the needs and skills of program clients and job seekers.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business engagement strategy to support the organization’s growth and mission.
  • Oversite of operations within location(s) assigned and provide program leadership to ensure that all contractual obligations are met and that services are of high quality to both job seekers, and potential employers.
  • Develop, compile business engagement impact reports and dashboards across all programs and assist with other organizational reporting efforts as needed.
  • Establish and oversee employer advisory group activities/meetings on a regular basis with area businesses representing a cross-section of targeted industries who align with agency program priorities and job seekers’ needs. 
  • Identify strategic partnership opportunities and create tailored proposals for businesses.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align business development efforts with Able’s programs and initiatives.
  • Attends and actively participate in community events and other outreach opportunities.
  • Leverage CRM systems (i.e. Bullhorn) to manage prospect data, track communications, and analyze outcomes.
  • Prepare and present business services data, labor market information, industry gaps, etc., and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Regularly evaluate the success of business development efforts and implement data-driven improvements.
  • Work closely with the program leadership teams to align goals and support cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Mentor business service representatives and contribute to a positive, mission driven culture.
  • Plan, implement and participate in business services strategy sessions, providing insights on market trends and opportunities.
  • Ensure agency staff and leadership are current on industry trends and initiatives.
  • Leads regular meetings with staff and internal stakeholders to ensure an understanding of and adherence to the agency’s business outreach strategy, business outreach and engagement best practices, while promoting clear and timely communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Actively promote Able’s programs and services during all interactions to generate interest and support of Able’s business services initiatives.
  • Ensures integrity of data entered into internal and external systems and manages personnel to maintain timely entry of services and notes into systems as required.
  • Evaluate program data to ensure programs are meeting or exceeding financial, quality assurance, and performance metrics outlined in loading plans. Develop and monitor program corrective actions plans.
  • Assists with the preparation of proposals and grants including the collection of data to complete status/final reports for funders.
  • Review existing employer-facing organizational processes to find efficiencies where necessary.
  • Analyzes participant talent pool being served by programming to ensure alignment with business outreach strategies.
  • Other related duties as assigned
Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with community outreach and media through speaking engagements, attendance at meetings, and appropriate interviews to inform about the program and its services.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient re: government employment and training programs.
  • Evaluates quantitative and analytical data, assesses trends, and formulates solutions/recommendations; exercises judgement in selecting methods and techniques and evaluation of criteria for obtaining results.
  • Expertise in all aspects of project management. 
  • Proven leadership and management skills in selecting, developing, motivating and evaluating staff utilizing objective, quantitative measures. Strong team player who can lead by example and promote excellence, integrity, creativity and accountability among staff. 
  • Service-oriented, flexible, self–starter with a solid work ethic who can manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines. High initiative, outstanding organizational skills, clear attention to detail and the ability to follow-through. 
  • Enhance the productivity and skills of service staff through the identification, promotion, and provision of professional development activities such as: “in-service” education sessions, cross training with co-workers, task force/project team assignments, external seminars, professional group memberships, and proactive encouragement of professional development opportunities.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • A combination of related experience and/or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; master’s degree in business, non-profit management, public administration, social work or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in employment/training or recruiting field.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout surrounding areas.
