Job Summary:
Fine wine. Delicious food. Bring beautiful spaces to life and watch your attention to detail delight guests. You are responsible for creating unmatched experiences by engaging guests, and delivering an unrivaled service experience. By reviewing guest reservations and anticipating their arrival using noted information, you ensure every detail is thoughtfully prepared in advance. You warmly welcome repeat guests and VIPs with a familiarity made possible through OpenTable profiles, making every visit feel personal and memorable. You are vital to creating a successful dining experience for each guest.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet guests as they arrive, making them feel comfortable and valued.
- Efficiently manage reservations, both online and via phone, ensuring accurate record-keeping and seating arrangements.
- Continuously building and updating guest profiles as new information is gathered.
- Guide our guests throughout a brief introduction to the menu as they’re seated, and by providing specific suggestions, highlighting daily specials.
- Keep track of available tables and seating arrangements, coordinating with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth service.
- Manage waitlists effectively, providing accurate wait time estimates and ensuring that guests are seated promptly.
- Answer guest inquiries about all Ground businesses, restaurant and pub menus, and events, offering recommendations and assistance.
- Provide support to waitstaff as needed, such as taking to-go orders or assisting with bussing tables.
- Maintain a clean and organized station.
- Maintains current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items.
- Processes guest payments, using proper accounting and cash handling procedures.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and bar and waitstaff to ensure seamless service.
- Uphold the high standards of Grounded Table for service quality and guest satisfaction.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills and positive attitude.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale and reservation systems.
- Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures.
- Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations.
- Be a team player. Be flexible with duties and responsibilities.

Experience and Requirements:
- Previous host experience and/or restaurant experience preferred
- Experience with OpenTable software preferred
- Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s)
