Grounded Table is a wine country restaurant and pub sharing food with heart in historic downtown McMinnville, Oregon. The light-filled space is warm and approachable, welcoming locals and tourists for casual meals and special celebrations. The restaurant menus draw inspiration from the seasons and thoughtfully sourced ingredients, some of which are from our Tabula Rasa Farms, and other provisioners using sustainable practices like regenerative farming and small-batch craft. Job Summary:

Expeditor is the ultimate liaison between front and back of house order processing. The expeditor needs to be intimately knowledgeable about our food and service protocols and be able to communicate clearly and concisely with all departments for effective execution of service. Pub expo is responsible for set up of line, communication with Pub line cook, delivering food to cashier/tables by order number, assisting FOH service staff in clearing, stocking, etc., for restocking of condiment vessels, and breaking down station at end of service.


Duties/Responsibilities:

Specific Duties include but not limited to:

Set up

  • Stock plates, wipes, service ware to line as detailed in set up docs
  • Stock printer paper and ink for all 3 expo printers
  • Check and fill all sauce vessels for Pub table service
  • Cut parchment tray liners to preset pars
  • Assist line in any additional duties

Service

  • Pull and call all tickets to Pub line and pantry cook
  • Ensure any inadequate or incomplete tickets are identified and clarified before being fired
  • Keep tickets in orderly and time-specific manner
  • Coordinate food and mods to each ticket and deliver complete as appropriate to cashier or guest by order number
  • Finish, garnish, wipe dishes before delivery as defined in menu matrix
  • Communicate with guest upon delivery to ensure order is complete and correct and offer any additional accoutrement, fill water at table, remove Order Number and return to cashier
  • When no tickets on line, walk Pub floor to assist in bussing, filling waters, clearing empty dishes from guests, pulling bus tubs, stocking as needed
  • Communicating any 86’s from line to all FOH staff in a timely matter

End of Shift

  • Restocking line same as set up for next shift (plates, service ware, papers)
  • Effectively communicating all relevant information to next shift
  • Wiping down and cleaning station, towels, etc.


Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Excellent communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale system.
  • Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures.
  • Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations.
  • Be a team player. Be flexible with duties and responsibilities.
  • Humility, patience, and resilience.


Experience:

  • Previous experience as Expo, Runner, Server or similar role in a restaurant environment. We’re looking for candidates who have honed their skills in the art of table service. Your ability to provide attentive, knowledgeable, and warm service is essential.
  • Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s)
