Triage Medical Assistant
Description

 

 

  • Answering phone calls and voicemails.
  • Evaluate a new complaint by phone and triage to emergent, urgent, or routine appointments.
  • Prepare/send consultation letters with results or recommendations to referring physicians.
  • Send out Certified letters to patients.
  • Locate laboratory results not yet in the patient's medical records.
  • Explain/document laboratory and pathology results.
  • Call in prescription refills.
  • Explaining procedures and treatments.
  • Prior Authorizations.
  • Adhere to policies/safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • AVON office. Triage Hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.

 

Requirements

 

 

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Healthcare experience preferred but will train highly motivated person.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize heavy workloads in a constantly changing environment.
  • Must be able to maintain a daily routine to meet daily deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist in any aspect of clinical operations.
  • Applicants must be willing to travel to other locations outside of the Indianapolis region.
