Description
Manage various accounting functions and provide operational support to the VP of Finance.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial budgets, forecasts and reports.
- Manage and oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis, and payroll.
- Oversee and supervise payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulation, including payroll tax filings and 401k compliance.
- Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting and forecasting.
- Analyze current financial performance against historical data and forecasts.
- Provide financial analysis support for the budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Lead annual budgeting process, including capital expenditure planning.
- Collaborate with various departments to align financial goals with business objectives.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement of financial performance in accordance with corporate objectives; pursue and communicate opportunities identified.
- Establish and support challenging goals for self, finance staff, and management of company, monitor results and coach others on actions to achieve results.
- Maintain confidential information & perform other duties as assigned by VP of Finance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA and/or MBA
- At least 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- In depth understanding of GAAP & Internal Controls
- Experience in budgeting, standard cost rate development, general ledger/accounting, management reporting, variance analysis, payroll tax and sales tax reporting, and general business issues
- Experience overseeing payroll, payroll tax filings & compliance, payroll software maintenance
- Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement – Six Sigma and/or Lean Training
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint/etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and work independently and diligently under pressure
- Strong management/leadership skills and strong attention to detail
Additional desired skills:
- Experience in engineered to order manufacturing
- Experience with Paylocity (payroll software) and/or M1 (ERP)
- Experience working for private equity owned business
- M&A due diligence and transaction accounting experience
