PBS Body Shop is seeking a full-time skilled and detail-oriented School Bus Painter to join our dedicated team. We are committed to maintaining a professional and safe fleet of school buses, and your expertise in painting and finishing will play a vital role in achieving this goal. Responsibilities:

• Prepare school bus and type 3 van surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming.
• Apply paint and other coatings to school bus bodies using spray guns and other application equipment.
• Mix and match paints to achieve desired colors and finishes.
• Ensure smooth and even paint application, minimizing runs, drips, and other imperfections.
• Perform touch-ups and repairs to painted surfaces as needed.
• Maintain and clean painting equipment, including spray guns and paint booths.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations regarding paint application and handling of hazardous materials.
• Maintain accurate records of paint materials used and work performed.
• Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an automotive or heavy-duty vehicle painter, preferably with experience in large vehicles or buses.
• Proficiency in using spray guns and other paint application equipment.
• Knowledge of various paint types and application techniques.
• Ability to mix and match paints accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of safety protocols and regulations regarding paint application and handling of hazardous materials.
• Ability to read and interpret paint specifications and instructions.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ASE certifications in painting and refinishing.
• Experience with school bus, large fleet painting,or automotive painting.
