Resident Monitor Shift Supervisor

Position Summary: The Resident Monitor Shift Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager. This is a full-time position that requires a regular 12am - 8am overnight shift Tuesday - Saturday and is based out of The Aya in SW DC.
Salary – The salary for this position is $18.50 per hour. Indeed provides its own estimated salary calculator and is not affiliated with COH’s range.
Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support to Housing staff as needed; ensures there is a sufficient amount of hard copies of all necessary documents. Ensures intake packets are always available.
- Documents and communicates rule violations and concerns about residents as appropriate to the situation; by email no later than by the end of the shift or when necessary, immediately by phone to appropriate staff.
- Does not leave post at the end of shift without first ensuring that the proper amount of resident monitors (RM), relative to that site, are on duty for the next shift.
- Assists with training resident monitors; updates and organizes the Resident Monitor Handbook, logs, and all other documentation used by RM staff.
- Completes intakes with new residents upon arrival.
- Completes and approves Internal Unusual Incident Reports prior to submission to Program Director and on-call supervisor.
- Ensures that concise and clear shift reports are written by Resident Monitors on the same shift; ensures that each floor log correctly correlates with Front Desk/Security log. Resolves all discrepancies prior to end of shift.
- Addresses resident concerns as needed or refers to Case Manager and/or Program Director as appropriate.
- At least hourly, monitors community areas within building including lobby, makes rounds throughout the building. Discusses with security about activity in and around the building; addresses issues as needed.
- Answers phone in a respectful and pleasant manner, transfers calls, and provides information as needed while maintaining resident confidentiality according to COH and the Homeless Services Reform Act (HSRA)policy.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to utilize computer software such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Mail.
- Ability to act responsibly, professionally, and use good judgment under pressure required.
- Ability to write shift and incident reports in detail required.
- Experience working in a residential environment preferred.
- Ability to de-ice the front walkway by salting and shoveling the front area when inclement weather occurs.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, required.
- Ability to serve as an essential staff member required.
- Ability to work at different sites strongly preferred.

About Us:
Community of Hope is a mission-driven, innovative, and rapidly growing nonprofit. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide medical, dental, emotional wellness, and care coordination services for the whole family at three locations in DC.
