Description

Position Summary:


The Banquet Captain is responsible for overseeing the service and execution of banquet events at Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort. This role will ensure that all aspects of the event run smoothly, from setup to cleanup, and provide leadership to the banquet staff. The Banquet Captain works closely with the Banquet Manager to ensure guest satisfaction and adherence to event plans.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • At least one year experience in banquets, event management or food and beverage required.
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (e.g. TIPs, TAM, ServSafe Alcohol)
  • Food Safety Certification (e.g. ServSafe, Food Protection Manager)
  • Availability during peak operating times: weekends, evenings and holidays required.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the setup of banquet rooms according to event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, and decorations.
  • Lead and coordinate the banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and support staff, ensuring they perform their duties efficiently.
  • Oversee the service during the event, ensuring timely and professional delivery of food and beverages.
  • Act as the point of contact for group representatives when management is not present.
  • Address guest inquiries and concerns, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Handle any issues that arise during the event, such as staffing shortages or guest complaints, and find quick solutions.
  • Supervise the breakdown and cleanup of the banquet area after the event, ensuring it is left in good condition.
  • Provide feedback to the Banquet Manager on the event's success and any areas for improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Physical Requirements:

Position requires sitting, hand-eye coordination, stooping, kneeling and walking/standing for multiple hours in succession. This position may on occasion require lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing up to approximately 21-50 pounds.

Salary Description
$22.00- $25.00
