Job Summary  

We are seeking a Material Handler for our Shipping/Receiving Department to support the coordination and execution of accurate, on-time shipping functions. This hands-on role involves operating various types of material handling equipment and contributing to the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility.   This is a 2nd shift position, 3:00pm - 11:00pm



Key Responsibilities

  • Load/unload materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, or dollies
  • Operate trailer restraints, dock plates, overhead doors, and banding/wrapping equipment
  • Deliver raw materials (including roll stock) to production areas
  • Collect and document finished goods from the pressroom
  • Weigh and count finished products; prepare documentation accordingly
  • Verify inventory counts and delivers necessary inventory supplies (e.g., skids, cartons, labels)
  • Prepare outgoing shipments: label, wrap, band, and stage materials
  • Maintain clean, organized storage areas in the warehouse
  • Accurately scan materials between warehouse, dock, and production locations
  • Check and confirm all shipping and receiving paperwork
  • Assist with facility and warehouse security
  • Perform general housekeeping in the warehouse and dock areas
  • Track and maintain shipping/packaging supplies inventory
  • Conduct equipment checks and perform minor maintenance on lift trucks
  • Support training of new team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Ability to operate propane or electric forklifts and clamp trucks
  • Experience using handheld scanners and basic computer systems
  • Basic math and average written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office
  • OSHA safety training preferred
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain one


Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in warehousing or shipping/receiving required
  • Prior forklift and/or clamp truck operation experience required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or walk for the entire shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Full range of motion in all body parts

Salary Description
19.49/hr.
