We are recruiting for an Engineering Planner.
Job Summary:
The Engineering Planner will support all aspects of network planning and design for FTTH projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality fiber infrastructure. This role requires an extensive understanding of telecommunication technologies, project management, and resource optimization. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments to meet the company’s goals for network expansion and innovation.
Engineering Planning:
· Implement the FTTH network planning strategy to align with the company’s business goals.
· Support long-term and short-term planning for network design, capacity, and scalability.
· Collaborate with a team of Project Managers and Engineers and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
· Provide support to ensure the engineering and construction of the national network assets meet the Company’s annual expense, revenue, and margin commitments.
· Assist in the development of national & regional network capital and operational budgets.
FTTH Network Design and Optimization:
· Design and plan the FTTH networks, including topology selection, capacity planning, and route optimization.
· Ensure adherence to technical standards, regulations, and best practices in network design.
· Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to improve efficiency and network performance.
Project Management and Execution:
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including construction, procurement, and operations, to ensure seamless project execution.
· Establish project timelines, budgets, and deliverables for network deployment.
· Monitor progress and resolve planning-related challenges to keep projects on track.
Stakeholder Management and Reporting:
· Work closely with engineering leadership to communicate planning milestones, risks, and opportunities.
· Build relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, vendors, and contractors.
· Prepare detailed reports on planning metrics, performance, and business outcomes.
· Utilize systems and reports to ensure fiscal responsibility, due diligence and oversight for detailed engineering, construction, inspection and service readiness of all network deployments and capital investment.
· Identify and escalate any shortfalls that impact meeting the key targets of the build.
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
· 7+ years of experience in telecommunications, with at least 5 years in an engineering planning role.
· Proven expertise in FTTH network design, implementation, and management.
· In-depth knowledge of fiber-optic technologies, GIS software, network architecture, and design tools.
· Understanding of regulatory and permitting requirements for telecommunications projects.
· Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong analytical and organizational skills.
· Willingness to travel as needed to support network planning and deployment.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
· Problem-solving mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
