The Marketing and Development Intern will provide support in key areas such as fundraising event coordination, content creation for marketing communications, social media management, and general administrative tasks. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and receive targeted training across multiple facets of nonprofit development and marketing. The position is a 30-hour-per-week role, running from May 16 through July 22, or for a consecutive 10-week period as mutually agreed upon by the intern and the organization.

1. Help with the 2025 Summer Cereal Drive by supporting donors, working with media, being on-site at collection events, and handling event-related admin and marketing tasks.
2. Create content for our social media channels, especially TikTok—short videos, behind-the-scenes moments, and mission-driven stories.
3. Work with our Marketing Coordinator to collect and share neighbor stories, helping bring real voices and faces to our mission.
4. Support the team by helping manage incoming requests through our marketing and communications ticketing system.
5. Assist with email marketing tasks such as drafting newsletters, formatting donor communications, and scheduling email campaigns.
6. Assist in updating the website with blog posts, event info, and other fresh content.
7. Represent our organization with professionalism and heart at community events, media opportunities, and public gatherings.
8. Support design projects such as flyers, social media graphics, and promotional materials—using tools like Canva or Adobe.
9. Monitor media coverage and social media performance and help gather insights and analytics for the team.
10. Handle everyday office tasks like printing, organizing materials, prepping for events, and general administrative support.
11. Attend team meetings, trainings, and events to stay informed and gain valuable experience.

The following qualifications are preferred for the candidate, however, other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of management.
• Currently enrolled in a college or university program pursuing a degree.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
• Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines, and supporting fundraising goals.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
